In My Skin: New Blog Series
“If we can open up a little bit more to each other and share our stories, our real stories, that’s what breaks down our barriers…In order to do that, you have to believe your story has value.”
Michelle Obama from Becoming the Netflix Original Documentary
I don’t know if you have ever talked yourself out of something because you believed yourself incapable, unworthy, or not enough. I have done this time and time again. I have a feeling you have too.
Can we please agree, it’s time to move on from this cycle of shame?
Can we share our stories with the people around us? Our stories are important. Our insecurities are not just ours. Our victories are not just ours either. We are all worth celebrating!
Over the next several months I have some friends I love and adore. They come from different walks of life, different backgrounds, different parts of the world. They’ve each agreed to share a story of life in their skin.
I hope you read a story you resonate with. I pray it encourages you, pulls you from any isolation you feel backed into right now. I smile thinking about finding the bravery to tell your own story of life in your own skin. I want to celebrate the personal victories you find in your own story.
Stay tuned for this series. You don’t want to miss out! Subscribe to my email list for updates. Tell a friend who might feel a little isolated or someone craving some encouragement. This one’s for you. For all of us.
We are worth celebrating just as we are, in our skin!
